ADULT COUNSELING

You Don't Have to Carry Everything Alone.

Thoughtful, evidence-based counseling to help you navigate life's challenges with greater clarity and confidence.

Life can feel overwhelming—even when, from the outside, everything seems to be going well.

You may be balancing work, relationships, parenting, caregiving, or countless daily responsibilities while quietly carrying stress, anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional exhaustion.

Counseling provides a supportive, judgment-free space to step back, gain perspective, and develop practical strategies so you can move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

A Place to Slow Down,

Reflect, & Move Forward

Life moves quickly, and it's easy to spend so much time caring for everyone else that your own needs get pushed aside.

Counseling offers a space to pause, sort through what's weighing on you, and gain perspective without judgment or pressure. Together, we'll identify practical strategies that fit your life while working toward meaningful, lasting change.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, burnout, or simply feeling stuck, our work will be tailored to your goals, your strengths, and the challenges you're facing.

A Practical,
Personalized Approach

I believe counseling should be a collaborative process—not a one-size-fits-all approach. Every person brings a unique story, set of strengths, and life experiences, and therapy should reflect that.

Together, we'll take time to understand what's bringing you to counseling, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build practical strategies that fit your life.

My goal is for you to leave each session feeling heard, understood, and equipped with practical tools you can confidently apply in everyday life.

Counseling with Doc & Benson

For many clients, having a therapy dog nearby creates an even greater sense of comfort and ease during counseling.

Whether they're quietly resting nearby or offering a gentle greeting, Doc and Benson help many people feel more relaxed, grounded, and at home in the therapy room. Interaction with the dogs is always completely optional, and many clients find they make the counseling experience feel a little less intimidating and a little more welcoming.

Some clients never interact with the dogs at all, while others look forward to seeing them each week. Either way is perfectly okay.

QUESTIONS ADULTS OFTEN ASK

Q: Do I need to be in crisis to benefit from counseling? Not at all. Many people begin counseling before a problem reaches a crisis point. Therapy can help you better manage stress, improve relationships, navigate life transitions, build healthier coping skills, and gain greater self-awareness. Seeking support early often helps prevent small challenges from becoming larger ones.

Q: Can counseling help with stress, burnout, & feeling overwhelmed? Yes. Chronic stress and burnout can affect your emotional well-being, relationships, physical health, and overall quality of life. Counseling can help you identify the sources of your stress, develop healthier coping strategies, establish realistic boundaries, and restore a greater sense of balance and resilience.

Q: What issues do you help adults with? Adults come to counseling for many different reasons. Some are navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, grief, or major life transitions, while others simply want a better understanding of themselves or healthier ways to manage life's demands.

Q: What if I've tried counseling before? Every counseling experience is different. If therapy hasn't been helpful in the past, it doesn't mean it can't be helpful now. Your previous experience, your current goals, and the relationship you build with your therapist all play important roles in the counseling process. Every therapist brings a different style, personality, and approach, and finding the right fit can make a meaningful difference. Together, we'll develop an approach that is tailored to your unique needs and focused on helping you make meaningful, lasting progress.

Q: How do I know if we're a good fit? Finding the right therapist is an important part of the counseling process. My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored to each individual's goals and needs. If, after learning more about my practice, you think we may be a good fit, I'd be happy to help you determine whether counseling together feels like the right next step.

Q: I'm used to handling things on my own. Is counseling still worth it? Many of my clients are successful, capable individuals who have spent years managing challenges on their own. Counseling isn't about telling you how to live your life—it's about providing an objective perspective, practical strategies, and a place to work through challenges that may be difficult to navigate alone. You don't have to be falling apart to benefit from therapy.
