MEET THE COUNSELORS

I am passionate about helping individuals and families develop healthy life skills to improve their everyday quality of life. When working with clients, I diligently counsel and educate them in identifying their strengths, building self-esteem in overcoming multiple barriers, and developing preventative life skills. My goal is to customize your individual care to make sure your psychological, social, physical, and economic needs are understood and met with the utmost respect and compassion. I can effectively and efficiently help you to increase your toolkit for the challenges you face and move towards a place of healing and peace.

I have been an Outpatient Therapist for the past thirteen years. I am responsible for and deliver a wide range of services, including managing a caseload of family and individual clients, and crisis and risk assessments and interventions. I have previous experience conducting guardianship evaluations, mental inquest warrant evaluations, facilitating therapy groups, completing admission assessments, and conducting psychological assessments, analyzing results, and writing reports. I have expertise and experience in EMDR, Animal Assisted Therapy, and the Seven Challenges substance abuse program for adolescents and teenagers.
I completed my coursework in Counseling Psychology at the University of Louisville and received my Master of Education degree in 2010. At this time, I have completed all necessary supervision and am licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Indiana and dual licensed as a Licensed Psychological Practitioner and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky. Through education and experience, I have an exceptional foundation of assessment knowledge and technique and have developed a refined skill in this area of the field. My primary passion and proven success is working directly with clients, specifically adults and teenagers. This stems from my effective ability to communicate with all clients and providers.

Meet Doc
In 2021, Dr. Josh joined Gibbs Treatment Solutions as our resident therapy dog. "Doc" has completed extensive training and underwent a thorough evaluation during which he was required to demonstrate his therapeutic skills. Doc is certified to provide Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT), which includes love and healing for his clients. AAT can be offered via direct interventions or as a supplement to other treatment modalities, such as petting an animal while recounting a painful experience. The bond between Doc and his client can foster trust, increase feelings of self-worth, and improve coping, social, and communication skills.
